before lowering or raising the removable body to or from the ground:

step 1

complete:safety operations checklist

Before lowering or raising the removable body to or from the ground:

1

Conduct risk assessment and induct staff, if necessary

2

Always carefully exit vehicle. Check for uneven ground and passing traffic and pedestrians

3

Establish traffic control using an approved Traffic Control Plan, if necessary

4

Before driving perform vehicle pre-operation checklist (ensure service at appropriate intervals)

5

Select a sufficiently large and level site free of hazards such as people, powerlines, uneven ground, objects on the intended landing zone which could impede, or be pushed by, or damage or be damaged by the cargo tray

6

Ensure the vehicle’s parking brake and removeable bodies wheel brakes are engaged before attempting to lower or raise the removeable body to or from the ground

7

Ensure all RB’s loads are evenly distributed sideways. The SLA is a lifting device, any unevenly loaded RB, as it is loaded onto or unloaded from the vehicle will creep towards the heaviest side, which will cause the RB chassis runners to not line up with the SLAs rear roller guides. As the RB is being loaded back onto the vehicle ALWAYS check that the RB chassis runners are in line with the SLA rear roller guides

8

Ensure any load is well secured to the RB and will not move or fall off when the RB lifts up, moves and tilts to an acute angle, before its wheels reach the ground and the RB rolls to a horizontal position on the ground or is pulled onto the vehicle

9

Ensure that the vehicle and the unloaded removeable body will not be a hazard to pedestrians, runners or other moving vehicles

10

The operator and other people must stand clear of the intended path of the moving removeable body

please note:

The MA has a W.L.L. of 1,000kg with the MAE fully retracted.

The W.L.L. will be reduced with the MAE extended partially or fully.

Always check the combined masses of your Vehicle + SLA + RB + RB’s load to make sure you are not exceeding your vehicles GVM.

If the DC Power Pack is operated continuously for approx. 5 mins, it will need to cool down for approx. 30 mins.
